Ring-Necked Pheasant

Well, it’s been a couple of weeks since my last Photo Friday, but I do have a good excuse, I was capturing more images! I just returned from a trip to western Nebraska where I traveled to some remote areas to get some photos of places that are not visited often, in fact, I rarely ran into another person or vehicle on my journey. There are some beautiful areas in this part of the state and most people speed down the interstate and never venture off. Those that do are often pleasantly surprised! One area I visited on this trip was Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge on the western edge of the Sandhills. During my visit, the ring-necked pheasants were out and the males were showing off and making noise. For the most part they didn’t seem to care I was there which allowed me some great image opportunities.
