Gone Forever on the Nebraska Plains - An Abandoned Farm House Sits Alone on the Prairie
Abandoned

Last Sunday I spent the first part of the day shooting ducks and other birds at Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge. In the afternoon I decided I wanted to scout some locations in southeastern Nebraska by the Kansas border. While driving some of the remote country roads I came across an abandoned farmhouse. I initially took a quick look and then continued to scout. As the afternoon progressed the clouds rolled in and the lighting became moodier. I immediately went back to capture the structure in the melancholy light. I carefully walked around the house and peered in the few windows and doors and photographed the dilapidated interior. I finished by capturing the outside. These images are perhaps a little moodier and outside my norm, but I felt particularly inspired and creative while I studied the scene with my camera.

Technical Details:
Canon 5D Mark II, All images were taken with the 17 TS-E f/4L except “Alone on the Prairie” Which was Captured with a 70-200 f/4L
