Photo Friday: Capturing the Sunlight

Capturing the Sunlight

This summer in North and South Dakota large amounts of rain contributed to wildflowers bursting forth from everywhere. These particularly delicate Mariposa Lilies were no exception. I found these flowers growing in fields and hillsides during my recent trip. During the early afternoon this lily caught my attention as it was perfectly positioned to capture the sunlight in it’s petals causing it to glow like a white and pastel light bulb upon the North Dakota prairie. As the wind was still that day, I was able to spend some time getting just the right composition to capture the beauty of this little lily.
