Photo Friday: Sunset and Sand Dunes

As the last of the light of the day diminishes at Great Sand Dunes National Park, a single set of clouds remain illuminated before quietly going dim.
Sunset and Sand Dunes

There’s something that draws me to the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado. After I climb the first set of dunes and I am out in the open among the undulations I feel as though all my problems and issues vanish into the sand. On this evening the weather was calm, cool, and quiet. A couple from Germany happened by and we spoke for a while. They had never been to the dunes and they were drawn to the beauty and openness of the area. They commented on how in the United States we have large open areas and how you could almost get lost in the expanse. I suppose one could get lost, but I think I think that the majority of individuals would say they are found when they visit such places.
