Reflections on Red Rock Lake, Colorado<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

As with life, I’ve often found that sometimes great things are found in\u00a0negative conditions.\u00a0 Last September I traveled to Colorado<\/a> with the intent of photographing the west side of\u00a0Rocky Mountain Park.\u00a0 Since I was traveling from the east, the fastest way to get to the other side was to go over Trail Ridge Road which is the highest elevated\u00a0paved road in the United States.\u00a0 Since the road is at such a high altitude the weather is very dynamic and can change very quickly.\u00a0 On the day that I arrived, a snow storm had rolled through and the road was closed.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the only other way around was to travel south to the Interstate and back north again on the other side of the range adding about 4 to 5 hours of travel time.<\/p>\n

During the trip\u00a0I needed to stop for lunch and my GPS showed a National Forest Area.\u00a0 I turned off the highway and found this little lake nestled among the trees.\u00a0 It was a beautiful scene and one that I might never had witnessed had I not had to detour because of the storm.\u00a0 I enjoyed the view for a while and captured this image with the storm clouds still hanging on the mountains to the north into Rocky Mountain National Park.<\/p>\n
