Photo Friday: Morning’s First Light

Stockade Lake in the Black Hills of South Dakota reflects the warmth of the rising sun.
Morning’s First Light

For today’s image, I’m posting a photograph captured this summer in Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota. A beautiful and peaceful place, today’s image was capture on a calm, quiet morning at Stockade Lake on the western edge of the park. It was a perfect day to capture the reflection of the morning sun illuminating the clouds to the east. It was so calm the grasses on the shoreline did not sway at all as I captured this image of solitude and serenity.

Technical Details:
Canon 5d Mark II, 24mm TS-E f/3.5L lens, f/13, 1/4 sec., 2-stop Singh-Ray Hard Grad
Custer State Park, South Dakota
