A couple of weeks ago when I was showing at the Art of the Wild show at DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge, I arrived early, about a half hour before sunset and made my way down to the lake. On this particularly cold day I setup my tripod and waited for the rising sun to illuminate the landscape. In the few minutes before sunrise I quietly watched the activity all over the lake – geese and ducks flew overhead and a single Bald Eagle made his way down the lake. In the minute before sunrise it seemed that all the activity stopped briefly and the sun began to illuminate the far shore. Then just as quickly as the activity had stopped, it started again and the ducks and geese flew into the morning light.
