Photo Friday: Crimson and Cold

On a chilly February evening the setting sun illuminates the clouds in the western sky with a dazzling crimson color.
Crimson and Cold

Nebraska has been fairly warm this winter again. That means the cold weather photography has been limited. For a couple weeks, however, it was cold enough to freeze much of Wehspann Lake in Sarpy County. I wandered around the shore a bit and found these old tree branches reaching out of the ice. As the sun set, the clouds in the west became an incredible crimson color which was reflected in the ice and contrasted with the cold blues of the scene.
